Better Billy Bunkers
We have recently gone through and repaired all the sinkholes that the spring and summer rains have damaged. While in the process of repairing these sinkholes, we had planned on also replacing a few sand traps. However, we have received great news! The Nicewonder family has given the turf team permission to replace all the sand traps on the golf course. We will be using a system called the Better Billy Bunker System for this renovation. I am thrilled, as this is one of largest renovations for the course in our 27-year existence.
A few years ago, we used this system on holes 3 green side, 9 green side, and all sand traps on hole 10. That proved a good trial to see if this system would hold up as expected. The heavy rains we have endured over the past two years has helped provide the evidence to support this exciting decision.
Some sand traps will be removed (the ones that you hardly see anyone in). We will replace these with grass depressions, which will also provide a challenging shot.
